Getting a casino game online instantly today is just like instant noodles, only in this instance there us no adding water (not a good idea)! Gone are the days when a download was required in order to get the best quality of play. Instant play software is the bees knees of gaming now and the only time software downloads are required is for special and some 3D effects. While a download means permanent software (until you remove it) on your Desktop or Laptop; instant play software loads and allows the casino game online to be played through the internet browser of the computer.
When online casinos were first made available to the public back in the dark ages, last century (1995), the only type of software available was download. Back then game applications were actually too graphically rich (even though the quality was poor) for the slow speeds of internet available, believe it or not! Only when we entered the new Millennium and the online casino industry boomed as did the demand for high speed broadband; did software companies start to offer us games through Flash and various other “instant” mediums. Today the question – “To Download or Not to Download?” Rarely arises if ever – although it usually does with applications for mobile phones.
Back in the day when downloading games was more popular than it is today; patrons of the casino game online, were also somewhat misinformed as to the security aspect of download as apposed to instant play. We say misinformed because there was actually no proof that 128-bit encryption through download was any less or more secure than it was through instant play. We believe that this was some kind of urban legend. 128 or 256 – Bit encryption is still the same security, no matter which way it is delivered.
Although we don’t have these problems today, what with all the Gigabytes and Terabytes we have available on modern hard drives and in random access memories. In the old days this might have been a problem for downloading megabytes of games. This is a non-issue now, but is kind of what prompted the preference for the instant type of casino game online. The choices we are left with today means if we feel like downloading the casino software of six or 26 more different casinos to our hardware we can. It is really all a matter of personal preference.
Downloading all that software is a huge con for the player however if they like to play one game from one software provider and other games from other providers. Of course anyone who is a die-hard, one site, one man loyal fan base, then by all means download the entire suite of games. Either way we don’t care what you do, one is neither better than the other, and the world of the casino game online is everyone’s oyster – that’s what technology will do for you.
