The birth of poker has been convincingly dated to the
first or second decade of the 19-century. It appeared in
former French territory centered on New Orleans, which
was ceded to the infant United States. Poker is a five
card vying game played with standard playing cards. It
is vying game, where instead of playing their cards out,
the players bet as to whop holds the best cards
combination by progressively raising the stakes until
either there is a showdown or all but one player have
given up betting and dropped out of play, when the last
[person to raise wins the pot without a showdown. A five
card vying game is one where, no matter how many cards
may be dealt to each [player, the only valid
combinations are those of five cards.
Strategies
One of the greatest things about is the game offers good
player a way to consistency wins in public casinos and
poker rooms. This it is the only games where the player
does not compete against the house, unlike the other
gambling games where the casinos always wins in the long
run, in this game the casino makes its profit from the
table. The house does not care if you win or lose. The
winners collect most of the pots, so they usually do not
mind playing most of the rent.

hands. This is a common rule and one that should be
adhered to if one has to succeed poker player. This is
due to the most players are involved in way to many pots
and see way too many flops, mainly with marginal to weak
starting hands.
Avoid playing to loose:

not play just for the sake of playing and keep loosing
money over and over again. If this is the case, quit
playing.
Practice reading the flop:
Before starting to play, practice reading the flop.
Adjust to the speed of the game:
Speed of the game is very important, adjusting to the
speed is necessary or else it would be difficult for
playing.
Look for tells:
While tells are typically
reserved for the live games, there is information one
can garner from other players.
Play smaller tournaments
Play smaller tournaments, be perfect in them and then
you can surely go for bigger ones; it would be much
easier to win at them.
Schedule your tournament play
Schedule your playing games and then it would be easier
playing.
Do
not play poker to escape other things
Do
not play poker in order to escape from other things,
play just for entertainment or just making some money.
Do
not put more cash in your, that you cannot afford
Play for only the amount that you can afford, do not
exceed the limits, making you go bankrupt. Check out for
your pockets, before you gamble.
