Non-Gambling Texas Hold’em Poker Games

by Jerry "Jet" Whittaker

Non-gambling Texas Hold’em poker games

Texas Hold’em is the most interesting game today. Just switch on the TV or any online gambling related websites you will see the Texas Hold’em. Poker has swept away the whole world into a frenzy of gambling. Because most of the people do not realize that poker can be such a skillful and interesting game. People used to look at poker as just another gambling game. People thought that poker could not be won just as if you cannot beat the roulette table. Fact is that poker in general and Texas Hold’em in specific is a far different story. In poker, there is no advantage to anyone but only to the player playing smartly. Texas Hold’em is just a game, which needs more skills than any other game.

Texas Hold’em

Texas Hold'em is the most popular community card poker game played and is a favorite for poker tournaments. Each player is dealt two private cards, after which there is a betting round. Then three community cards are dealt face up, followed by a second betting round. A fourth community card is followed by a third betting round, a fifth community card and the fourth and final betting round. At showdown, each player plays the best five-card poker hand he can make using any five cards among the two in his hand and the five on the board. Texas Hold’em is played very much as being an easy game to learn and play.

Past time game, not gambling

Poker can be a real thrilling past time game. Foremost, the immense majority of the people who participate in the poker games are defeated. As the game requires many skills, it can be played for the main purpose of showing your skills. This game can be played just for fun and not for the purpose of gambling in terms of money. You can play the game of poker with your friends or family at your home itself. You can play the game without money winning or losing, just as an entertainment. Like playing other card games, you can play poker. It is not necessary that you need to play poker in only monetary terms; you can play just like other normal card games. If you play, poker just as a form of entertainment is cannot be termed to as gambling.
