Slot Machine gambling at present in Southern California:

Slot gambling is undoubtedly on a rise in Southern
California especially among the Indian casinos. Present
Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has given
authorization to 14,000 slot machines throughout all the
						casinos in Southern California.
This new number has global scale, in fact, by
creating casinos carrying as many as 7,500 slot
machines, Southern California would become home to some
of the largest casinos on the planet. Moreover there are
more slot machine agreements currently under
negotiation. An introduction to such a huge number of
slot machines throughout the Southern California would
potentially force a significant gambling boom in not
only South California But the whole of the state. Of
late it has been one of the most burning topics and a
highly debatable issue among the legislators.

Gambling and slot machine laws in California:  The
Californian penal code defines slot machine as a device
that is adapted, or may readily be converted, for use in
a way that, as a result of the insertion of any piece of
money or coin or other object, or by any other means,
the machine or device is caused to operate or may be
operated that produces ambiguous chances of winning
money, credits, or any other thing of value. The
constitution of the state of California has a specified
						section about slot
machine and gambling. Not only possession or keeping
of slot machines but also manufacture, repair, own,
store, possess, sell, rent, lease is unlawful within the
territorial boundary of California according to the law.
Similarly the law also prohibits any person to make or
to permit the making of an agreement with another person
regarding any slot machine or device, by which the user
of the slot machine or device, as a result of the
element of hazard or chance or other unpredictable
outcome, may become entitled to receive money, credit,
allowance, or other thing of value or additional chance
or right to use the slot machine or device, or to
receive any check, slug, token, or memorandum entitling
the holder to receive money, credit, allowance, or other
						thing of value.
