						An
						overview on online gambling poker:

						Basically
online poker is the game of poker played over the
Internet. Due to the availability of the poker game in
the internet there has been a dramatic increase in the
number of poker players worldwide. Recent surveys
carried out by the Department of revenues throughout the
United States has shown that for the year of 2005,
revenues from online poker were estimated at US $ 200
million per month. Most of the prominent online poker
sites offer varied feature to encourage the new players
and to promote the popularity of the game. One such
common feature among them is to offer tournaments called
satellites by which the winners gain entry to real-life
poker tournaments. Compared to traditional venues for
playing poker, such as casinos and poker rooms online
venues are far more because they have much smaller
overhead costs. They are also more player friendly and
the software provided in them may prompt the player when
it is his or her turn to act.

						Legality of online poker gambling:

						In many
countries including several nations in and around the
Caribbean Sea and most notably the United Kingdom online
poker is legal and regulated. In the United States some
states have specific laws against online gambling of any
kind. It is also illegal to own an online gaming
operation without proper licensing and at present none
of the states are granting any such licenses. The U.S.
senate passed the internet Gambling prohibition act of
1997 on July 23, 1998. However the act could not become
a law as it was not approved by the House of
Representatives. Many banks and credit card companies
are not allowing direct money transfers to online poker
sites because of the legal grayness around online poker.
These has given a considerable rise to the business of
new online money transfer. These companies transfer the
funds directly to the poker site by providing online
e-wallets that players can load from a bank account. One
prominent advantage of these services is that it makes
it very easy for people to transfer money between
different poker sites without the money going back to a
						person’s bank account.

						Strategies of online poker:
						For a
beginner to learn the rules and strategies of online
poker it is highly recommended to download an online
poker room, and spending time at their play money
						tables. While playing
						online a player
has plenty of time as the computer has endless patience.
Also it will prompt the player whenever their turn
comes. The computer will mark what options the player
have check, bet, fold or raise and thus making a
beginner not to worry about doing the wrong thing.
