Arkansas Gambling – Aiming Arkansas
The sport of gambling is
at its prime in the country of United States. The US has
laws that control gambling effectively. This way people
can enjoy the sport but do not get addicted to it.
However, the gambling rules in the different states of
US differ. For example, the gambling scenario in the
state of Arkansas is not the same as in the other states
of the US. The reasons for this situation are many.
Arkansas Rules
The gambling scenario of Arkansas is very unique.
Gambling is legalized in Arkansas only to a limited
extent. Not all gambling games find legal permission
from the government authorities of Arkansas. Right now
in Arkansas, there are only two forms of gambling that
are accepted by the state authorities. They are horse
racing and greyhound dog racing. Other forms of gambling
are currently out of reach for the citizens of Arkansas.
There are very few places in Arkansas where all forms of
gambling are permitted. One such place is in Hot Springs
in Arkansas. There is also the Southland Greyhound Park
in West Memphis. However, apart from these places, there
are little options for the Arkansas citizens to gamble
to their heart’s content.
Many people from Arkansas visit Mississippi or Oklahoma
to indulge in gambling. However, many people from
Arkansas are opposing these restrictions on gambling.
They argue that it is absolutely of no use to have very
strict rules and restraining measure on gambling in the
state of Arkansas. This is so because, people can easily
go to other states and indulge in any form of gambling
that they want. This leads to increasing revenues of the
neighboring states. This is a big loss for the state of
Arkansas in every way. If gambling is legalized
completely in Arkansas, there can be a high tourist
influx in the state. The tourism sector can flourish on
the strength of free gambling. The revenue generated by
the tourism sector can be immense for the state. The
casinos can draw a large number of people to play
several gambling games.
However the gambling landscape in the state of Arkansas
is changing. The citizens of
Arkansas are trying to get
gambling the status of a legal sport. It would perhaps
not be too long before the state recognizes it as a
legal sport.
