Black jack is a very popular casino card gambling game. It is played with a pack or deck of cards. The other popular names of Black jack are twenty-one and Pontoon. This card game is very popular in the professional gamblers as the chances of winning and losing does not solely depends upon the luck, a fair element of skill is also very important. Black jack was not popular initially, when it was introduced in the United States. But black jack have gained the popularity in a very short period.

Black jack is quite a simple game as far as the rules are concerned and most of the rules of blackjack are common every where in the world. In the game of black jack the points are scored with the help of point value of the cards. Gambler with the highest total in the hand wins the game and all the money, but the total of the points should not exceed 21. Each card in black jack has different point value. Cards from 2- 10 carry their face value. All the face cards have a 10 point value and an ace carries the value of 11 points. In a game of black jack, where an ace's value is counted as 11 in a hand, it is called a soft hand. It is called a soft hand because it cannot be busted if the player draws another card. In the game of black jack the basic aim of every player is to beat the dealer by having the higher undusted hand.

Basic strategy in a black jack game

Black jack game is mostly played against the casino. Black jack is like any other casino game, in which the casino exploits a statistical advantage over the players to benefit itself in the long run. With a basic strategy, gamblers can actually reduce the casino advantage to a small percentage. A player should know when to hit and when to stand for his greatest advantage. This is called the basic strategy of black jack.
