About the gambling control commissions
Gambling has become very popular over the period of
time. This has created many of the problems for the
state. The criminal activities are also increasing
because of the gambling. it is getting difficult for the
states to control the activities of the casinos. Due to
all these problems, the states in the United States of
America have opted to make certain commissions to
regulate the acts of gambling and lotteries. The
gambling commission of that state is responsible to
apply the national state policy and state policy
throughout that state. California gabling control
commission is one of those organizations for this
purpose.
Establishment and the purpose of California Gambling
Control Commission
California Gambling Control Commission was established
in the state of California under the Gambling Control
Act in pursuant to the Governor's Executive Order
D-29-01. this gambling control commission has given the
wide jurisdiction over operation, concentration, and
supervision of gambling establishments. It also enjoys
the jurisdiction over all persons or things having to do
with the operations of gambling establishments in the
State of California. The main purpose to establish the
commission was to make a regulatory body over gambling
activities in the State. It has the power to set the
gambling policy of the state, establishing regulations,
issuing licenses. It also serves as the adjudicator for
license denials recommended by the Division of Gambling
Control. It is also the duty of the
California Gambling Control Commission to administer,
control, gaming device license among
California Indian Tribes.
Other responsibilities of the California Gambling
Control Commission
The
other responsibilities over the commission include receiving
and analyzing financial reports from licensed gambling
establishments. California gambling control commission
serves as the administrator for the Special Distribution
Fund. It also serves as the trustee for the Revenue
Sharing Trust Fund. It performs the duty to collect and
distribute funds and preparing the reports, for
Non-Compact Tribes based on the approved distribution
methodology. The commission also regulates the
advertising for the purpose of limiting exposure of
children. it makes the report to the Legislature on
gambling issues and on the imposition of a state tax.
There are many other functions of the
gambling control
commission.
