						Gambling Under Law

The topic of gambling has always attracted huge amount
of controversy. There have always been divided opinions
on gambling and whether it is good or bad. There are
some who think that gambling is not beneficial at all
and is an addiction which can be ruinous. This section
of people feels that gambling must be banned by law. The
other section feels that gambling is just a sport and
that it must be considered in the right spirit.

						Should Gambling be legalized?
						A
vast section of people feels that gambling must be given
a legal status. People feel that banning gambling is not
fair. If gambling is banned, people would resort to
illegal and covert ways of gambling. If gambling is made
legal there would at least be a proper system governing
it with proper ways and means to play the game with a
						right attitude.

There are huge profits involved in gambling which can be
tapped by the authorities if gambling is made legal. The
						argument supporting
legal gambling is that it would remove the several
secretive and hidden gambling parlours. Legalized
gambling would ensure that the parlours are not involved
in any unethical or unwanted practices. The law would
force them to follow a set of rules, regulations and
guidelines which would be beneficial for all- the
people, the gambling industry and the government. Legal
gambling would be vital for controlling the way in which
gambling is conducted or the way in which the gambling
						industry functions.

Internet gambling may still operate in a legal grey
zone. However its status as a genuine industry is clear
and well defined. While gambling is illegal in many
countries, online casinos operate out of legal havens,
						making cross-border regulation almost impossible.

						Conclusion

Due to increasing televised poker tournaments and
innovative marketing stunts by online casinos, there is
a wider awareness and acceptance of Internet gambling.
Experts also believe that with legal impositions on
gambling it would yield more profits and definitely a
broader mindset as far as gambling is concerned.
However, legal gambling is still a matter of controversy
and great speculation. Many governments in many
countries all over the world are still contemplating
						legal provision for gambling.
