History & origin of gambling in Las Vegas:

Las Vegas better known as the gambling capital of the
west is surely a heaven for the gamblers around the
world. The main reason for this may account for the fact
that when the rest of the world was fighting with the
question of legalization & regularization of gambling
this city already accepted gambling as a legalized
activity in the year 1911 on March 19th. One
month later the city issued six gambling licenses to
various hotels & gambling halls. In the year 1931 along
with the construction of the Hoover dam the city saw a
huge boost in the population as workers from all over
the continent began to flock to the city. The same year
also marked the beginning of a new era gambling in the
city as the first gambling hall named “Golden Nugget”
was inaugurated. The first hotel casino was in the name
of El Rancho was constructed in 1940.

Why is gambling popular in Las Vegas:
						In
the past few decades the popularity of Las Vegas as a
						gambling hot
spot have been skyrocketed. According to the Las Vegas
convention & visitors authority the city has been a top
destination for gambling for the last few decades with a
world record of 38.6 million visitors visiting the city
in 2005. Gambling and entertainment are the biggest
attractions of the city and serve as the largest
industries. The present gambling scenario mainly profits
from the large gambling population living in Las Vegas
and the South Californian communities as well as from
the enormous population of tourists & visitors that
throngs to the city every year. Being one of the fastest
growing cities in the United States with approximately
5000 thousands new residents every month the also boasts
of having 14 out of the 15 largest hotels in the U.S.
with over 130,000 rooms to offer to its visitors.
