						Gambling Control Board
						Gambling Control Board,
popularly known as Gaming Control Boards, are
governmental bodies or agencies charged with regulating
casino gambling in a defined geographical area, usually
a state. The official and formal names of these
regulatory bodies vary according to jurisdictions. The
most frequent and stark variations include the
substituting of the word ‘Gaming’ for either ‘Gambling’
and substituting the word ‘Board’ for ‘Commission’. Also
there is a provision of sometimes omitting the word
"Control". The use of different words like gaming
instead of gambling or casino is a relatively recent
development as it is considered to have fewer negative
connotations. It also sounds better than casino in
jurisdictions and areas where authorized gaming activity
is not necessarily limited to traditional casino-style
						buildings.
 Functions of GCB.

Gaming or Gambling Control Boards are usually and mainly
responsible for promulgating rules and regulations that
dictate how gaming activities are to be conducted within
a jurisdiction and area. The rules and regulations stalk
from the jurisdiction's enabling and presiding act.
Normally, the enabling act is passed by the legislature
and sets forth the broad policy of the jurisdiction with
regard to gaming. Meanwhile the rules and regulations
provide detailed requirements that must be satisfied by
a gaming establishment, its owners, employees, and
vendors. Typically, rules and regulations cover a broad
range of activities. These include licensing, accounting
systems, rules of casino games, and auditing.

 Issue of license

The full authority to grant or deny licenses to gaming
establishments, their ownership, employees, and vendors
is the right of Gaming or gambling Control Boards. In
order to obtain a license, an applicant must show that
he or she possesses good character, honesty and
integrity. License application forms generally require
detailed personal information. Depending upon the type
of license being sought, an applicant may also be
required to showcase details regarding previous business
relationships, employment history, criminal records, and
financial stability. The gaming (gambling) license
application process and subsequent investigation is
quite tiring and burden some in comparison to the
process of obtaining other government-issued licenses.
The difficulty of the process is intended to disqualify
participation by unethical persons and organized crime.
Going after recent demands, in order to simplify the
						application process, various gaming or
						gambling control
boards have collaborated on the design of
						multi-jurisdictional application forms. Persons, vendors
or organizations who are involved in gaming in multiple
jurisdictions may now complete one application form and
						submit copies to each jurisdiction.
