List of Casino Hopefuls Released As reported by the Evening Sun: "The field is set in the race for Pennsylvania slots licenses, and a proposed Gettysburg-area casino will be competing with seven other plans for stand-alone slots parlors. "The state Gaming Control Board revealed the names of all casino applicants Monday, and the Gettysburg investors will compete with two plans in the Poconos, two in the Lehigh Valley, one in Lancaster and another in Montgomery County. An eighth applicant is proposing a stand-alone casino in western Pennsylvania, but gaming board spokesman Nick Hays said the application is unclear about the exact site. "The Gettysburg-area plan, submitted by a group of investors led by local businessman David LeVan, calls for a stand-alone parlor at routes 15 and 30 called the Crossroads Gaming Resort and Spa.
