Mississippi Casino Vote Reflects Concerns As reported by the Greenwood Commonwealth News: "Varying concerns prompted House members from the Greenwood area to vote differently on Friday's casino bill. State Rep. "May Whittington said she voted to permit Gulf Coast casinos to locate up to 800 feet inland out of a concern for safety. "The bill passed the House on a 60 to 53 vote and is now in the state Senate. "The state Senate's Finance Committee approved the bill late Friday night.
