Casino Workers File Lawsuit As reported by the Tacoma News Tribune: "A group of Tacoma casino workers has filed a lawsuit against the City of Tacoma in hopes of blocking a ban on gambling houses scheduled to take effect at the first of the year. "The Associated Casino Employees for Survival, also known as ACES, wants a judge to force city officials to verify the approximately 21,000 signatures they gathered for an initiative petition, then put the question on the Feb. 7 ballot. "In addition, the group wants the judge to block the city from enforcing its casino ban until the issue comes to a vote. "It's the first of two lawsuits city officials expected over the matter. Casino owners might also file litigation. The casino workers group said in court papers that the city failed to do its job by not verifying the signatures…" |
