Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Vacancy Filled

As reported by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “Senate Democrats moved quickly yesterday to fill a vacancy on the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, a powerful new agency that will license 14 slot machine casinos in the state.

“Lackawanna College President Ray Angeli, 62, was named to fill the seat on the seven-member board that opened when former member William Conaboy, a Scranton lawyer and businessman, resigned Friday.

“Mr. Angeli will retain his job as college president while taking the $145,000-a-year job as a gaming regulator, said Tess Candori, spokeswoman for Senate Democratic Leader Robert Mellow of Scranton.

“?Under Act 71 of 2004, Gov. Ed Rendell chooses three of the seven gaming board members, and the General Assembly’s four top leaders each name one member?”
