Right off the bat people realized the entertainment potential of computers and tried to come up with interesting and exciting ways to use this new technology to captivate the world while bringing in massive amounts of income for many companies. As computers grew, so did the demand for better computer games, and today video games are a multi-million dollar business.

I'm sure almost everyone today remembers the Pac-Man game. This simple, addictive game captured the hearts of millions when it came out, and video arcades made a killing, with kids pumping quarters into Pac-Man machines like there was no tomorrow. Looking at a game of Pac-Man today, you may wonder what all the fuss was about, but there's no doubt that it was a turning moment in Computer Games.

Computer games have definitely come a long way from their modest roots, and if you compare an old game like Pac-Man or Space Invaders to any new computer game out on the market, there is an almost unimaginable amount of improvement. Computer games today are so realistic that at times you feel like you're actually in the game. Computer game developers are constantly working on new technology to make games look and sound better than ever.
This year is a big one for video games. Three of the most anticipated titles in computer game history are all due out sometime in 2004, and are leaving gamers drooling in anticipation. Halo 2, the sequel to the best-selling Xbox title is due out at the end of the summer, while Halflife 2 and Doom 3 are both due out sometime before Christmas as well. It's clear that this is going to be one great year for anyone who enjoys computer games!
