Roulette is a game not to be confused with the Russian version involving a revolver. It actually involves a wheel with numbers 00, 0-36, which equals 38 partitions. The two zeros are green colored, while the rest of the numbers are either black or red.

$20 on Black!
When you hear someone tell you to put there money on red or black, they are referring to Roulette. There is an even number of red and black spaces on the roulette wheel, with two green spaces. This means the odds are about 47% that it will land on the color you choose.
If you decide to choose a number on the board, it will pay out 36 to 1 odds. This may sound like a lot, but the odds are 38 to 1 that you will not hit it. The house always has a slight advantage over the player.
You can also choose different combinations of numbers on the roulette board. If you think it is going to be odd, or on the top third of the numbers, then you can put your money on it. The most recently rolled numbers are displayed on a board for the person playing the odds to analyze. Roulette is a very fun and fast paced game.
