As reported by the Patriot News: “The uncertain future of the slot-machine
casino that Penn National Gaming Inc. will build at its Grantville racetrack
became a little less uncertain this week. “A deadlock over slot-machine
suppliers was finally broken by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. The
board decided to license slot machines statewide, instead of regionally as
one board member had insisted in a stalemate that threatened to result in a
yearlong delay in issuing casino licenses. “The board’s decision on
Wednesday lifted Penn National stock by $3 a share at one point. But there
is a long way to go before slot-machine play can begin in Grantville.”
