						Sports gambling hints

Never was a truer word spoken, but then it is also true
that you must speculate to accumulate. Gambling is an
activity done by people varying in the purposes.

						Hints on gambling

Never gamble more than you can
afford. If it comes down to buying a loaf of bread
or putting a bet on the football then you have gone
							wrong somewhere.

							Make winning worthwhile, it is
very easy to put a bet on that is not worth winning.
Surely, this does not make sense, but if you are
going to win enough money to place another bet then
the first bet is not worth placing at all. If you
are going to gamble, place a bet that will win you
enough to put a smile on your face.’

Place the bets you want. Do not
be lured into betting for the sake of it, and do not
put a bet on at odds you do not like. Shop around,
							or save your money.

							Never gamble when you are
unhappy or depressed. You will not win; if you
							believe this try for yourself.

Set a betting or playing limit,
							sticking to your budget.

Set time limits and allow for
breaks, make sure you have access to a watch.

							Be realistic, the venues have
rules in their favors, if you lose expect it.

Be clear about your reasons for
gambling, for fun, time out, interest, to escape
from other problems, or to try to solve financial
							problems.

							Be open about your gambling,
tell people where you are and how long you will be
							and what are you doing.

							Learn about your chosen
gambling activity, like what the odds of winning
are, or what return you can expect to get from your
							investment.

							Hold on your winnings, keep
track of your looses, and avoid chasing those
							losses.

Most of all win or lose, have
fun. Play only for the sake of fun.

							Check your thoughts; be aware
							of any magical thinking.

Be aware of times or situations
that place you at high risk of problem gambling.

							Alcohol will affect your
judgment; think carefully about the consequences of
using alcohol when you are gambling.

Make gambling only one part of
a range of activities for your interest or
							entertainment.

Talk with family, a friend, or
a counselor if you need further assistance with
problems you may be experiencing with your gambling.
