Gambling:
Introduction
Gambling is an activity
that as the name suggests can involve a swing in one’s
financial fortunes. One can become millionaires
overnight by indulging in this sport. Gambling can be
carried out in the sports such as horseracing, football
matches, cricket matches, or any other sport for that
matter that involves a fair degree of uncertainty in
their outcomes that are known as odds. The bookies that
accept bets weigh their options by making a study of
these odds and accordingly accepting or declining bets
in such a way to hedge their advantages and maximize
their profits. Gambling is a legalized source of income
in some countries while in other countries it is
strictly prohibited and forbidden. There are a number of
books that have extensive advice and analysis of the
various topics under these subjects. These books not
only advise about the pro’s and cons of gambling but
also deal with topics such as the methodology and
psychology that goes behind placing bets and the ways to
minimize the risks and maximize the profits while doing
so. The following are some prominent books and their
authors.

Conclusion:
These are just few of
the hundreds of books that are available on the subject
of gambling. Care should be taken not to regard the
information provided by these books as the absolute
truth. This is because gambling is all about chance and
what might be true for one individual may not be a
generalized rule of gambling for all individuals.
