Betting is the oldest forms of gambling carried out. Modern world betting is done on various sports. Many people thrive great business out of it. In addition to that advanced technology in the field of communication have made this business more vulnerable to any body staying around the globe. It can no more be termed as betting but gambling has evolved as the sport.

Sport betting is type of gambling where money is gambled on the outcome of the result of the sport. Many nations especially in America regard sport betting as legalized occupation where as in North America, it is prohibited. It is more or less like a hobby for sports fans to increase their interest in the sporting events. Thus benefiting the leagues, teams and players as well. This adds to more excitement in the game.

Las Vegas is the biggest center of sports betting and gambling. It is done with the help of bookies existing in different part of the world. There are two types of gambles of a sporting event. One is profoundly known as straight up or money line. And the other one is point-spread wager. Money lines are used to set odds on sports such as football, baseball and hockey as well as in boxing and some other individual sports. For these sports, bookies in Asia and some parts Europe generally use straight-up odds, which are quoted based on a payout for a single bet unit. Another common gamble available for sporting events involves predicting the combined total score between the competing teams in a game. Such wagers are known as totals. Many bookmakers offer some other alternative bets such as proposition bet, paralys, run line, puck line  or goal line bets and future bets. These bookies get huge commission on favourable result.

Scandals and future

Scandals are the part and parcel of the gambling. Many games are disrupted due to scandals. Although fare game is a real spirit to watch, gambling has made it more interesting. Until the gambling is followed by scandals, gambling is good. Wonder where the game would be in next twenty years? There have been vast changes in the world in the last fifty years. The biggest change would be the option of online gambling, which has made the game accessible to people whenever they want, wherever they are. People can play at the same table alongside friends who are on the other side of the world. By this it would make people play more because they don’t have to go out to the casino.
