As reported by the Hudson Valley News: “The creation of casinos in Sullivan County could preclude their own doom, predicted Michael Edelstein, President of Orange Environment.
“Edelstein was one of three on a panel who addressed the potential impact Sullivan County casinos would have on Orange County, at a gathering in Goshen, attended by about 40, including several Orange County lawmakers and some town and village officials.
“The consensus: Orange County’s existing transportation infrastructure is already approaching capacity, and the county is the fastest growing in the state, without up to five casinos moving in next door, in Sullivan, the second fastest growing county.
“Edelstein says that could pose a significant dilemma for backers of any casinos?”
