As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: “Reno casinos reported $61.3 million in gambling revenue in February, nearly a 10 percent rise from February 2005. Despite the strong gain, the Las Vegas Strip has at least 24 casinos that each do a minimum $10 million more business than all the large casinos in Reno combined, according to the Gaming Control Board.
“Washoe County casinos hit a nine-month streak of revenue growth in February as casinos statewide posted a record for the month, the Gaming Control Board announced Monday.
“Washoe County casinos saw $84.4 million in gambling revenue, 8.7 percent more than February 2005, with both Reno and Sparks reporting near 10 percent gains, the board announced.
“…He said the strong Northern Nevada gambling revenue performance can be attributed to the market absorbing the effects of tribal gaming in Northern California…”
