“Pittsburgh First, the nonprofit group championing Isle of Capri’s bid for the city’s slot machine license, began airing TV commercials last weekend highlighting key elements of the $1 billion plus proposal.
“The commercials were shown during Penguins’ games on Fox Sports Network Pittsburgh. Radio ads touting the project also aired during the games.
“The Penguins are teaming with Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. in the bid for the state-issued slots license and both are mentioned throughout the 60-second spot. As part of its proposal, Isle of Capri is pledging $290 million to build a new arena.
“The TV and radio ads represent the first media salvos launched by Isle of Capri and the Penguins in the escalating battle with Forest City Enterprises over the slots license.
“?The Pittsburgh First ads, paid for by Isle of Capri, do not mention Forest City or the other applicant for the casino license, PITG Gaming LLC headed by Detroit businessman Don Barden?”
