As reported by the Albert Lea Tribune: “Diamond Jo Casino doubled down Thursday when paperwork came through for its purchase of the Arrowhead Golf Course here on the same day its new casino opened its doors seven miles west of Northwood, Iowa. “Carrie Tedore, director of public relations for Diamond Jo’s locations in Northwood and Dubuque, Iowa, confirmed the purchase had gone through and said the golf course and other attractions with it were scheduled to open this fall.
“The total package cost the casino about $655,000 for the golf course and some adjacent land to the east, according to Freeborn County Recorder Kelly Callahan. The two Diamond Jo casinos are owned by Dubuque-based Peninsula Gaming.
“?The casino plans to remodel the current golf course and club house, said Emmons Mayor Paul Henschel. Plans for adjacent land include a hunting preserve and a skeet shooting range, he said?”
