As reported by the South Florida Business Journal: “Calder Race Course said
it will open its 2006 season Tuesday, April 25 and hold racing each week
through Jan. 2. “.Calder’s feature programs are to include the Summit of
Speed on July 15. Stakes races that day are to include the $500,000 Princess
Rooney Handicap, which the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association
upgraded to Grade I status from Grade II.
“.Calder’s other biggest stakes race day is the Festival of the Sun,
scheduled for Oct. 14.”
