Offshore Gambling

The majority of online casinos are run through offshore gambling sites. The main reason for this is legality. It is illegal to run a casino in the majority of the U.S., which would include having a online casino based in that area. Fortunately, there is nothing wrong with running an offshore gambling site in the U.S.

Offshore Gambling sites are operating in countries in which gambling is not a legal problem. It sounds as if they are being run just offshore on little islands, but this is not always the case. There are sites based in Europe, South America, as well as the Caribbean. Many of these sites are catered specifically to U.S. citizens.

Offshore Gambling in the U.S.
The offshore gambling sites realize the importance of catering their pages specifically for the U.S. Otherwise there may be a language barrier as well as other problems. For example, poker sites will sometimes require that you only chat in English while at the table. This is to prevent players from getting an advantage by using another language to communicate.

Some people are worried if taxes become relevant when it comes to offshore gambling. Taxes are never charged to the user no matter how much you win. The same actually holds true if you were to win big in Las Vegas. The only difference is that it sometimes has to be reported if you win inside the U.S., but this never comes into play with offshore gambling.
