Pacific Poker $16.00 tournament at 13:05 EST

Can you say UPSET?

If I werent in jeopardy of getting a seat to the WSOP Id feel bad for Stephanie. Truth be told, I couldnt be happier that she had a brain fart and got whacked out of the tournament this month first. Yeah, you heard that right. She was the first person knocked out. She could have folded her way to Las Vegas, but instead chose to play for all her chips on a draw. I wasnt at the table, but heard it was a straight/flush draw with maybe a pair or something to go with it. Somebody please pipe in with the action.

Shes not out by any stretch, but its going to take the same amount of bad luck for me or Curt next month for Steph to have a chance. I overtook the field and pulled closer to Curt and am now sitting in 3rd place just 4 points behind Curt and 4 points ahead of Stephanie.

Chris L. will have to experience a miracle for a shot at a seat, but we saw one last weekend so it aint over yet, buddy. With the right people busting out at the right time combined with a very high finish in a large field, he could pull off the comeback of the season. Hes a solid player so its certainly not impossible.

Pulling up 6th and 7th, Dave and Rome, sorry guys, I just dont see it happening. Sure, it is mathematically possible, but the stars would have to line up perfectly. Too bad because Rome couldnt make the last tournament and Dave started the season out so strong.

Lynne, on the other handcongratulations! There is almost no way you will not go. Put into perspective, you would have to go out first AND Stephanie, me, and Curt would have to finish 1,2,3 in a large field. Aint happnin. Good luck in Vegas!

And finallywe bid farewell to Tony H. Hes moving to Wisconsin next week with his wife, Sue. Ive known Tony for at least 5 years and played poker with him regularly the last 4. We started out with silly home games around the time of the Moneymaker win, expanded to one and two table tournaments around Tracy with a group of Tracy Firefighters, and finally this league. Ill miss taking your money, pal. If you find a game in Wisconsin good luck with all that bluffing. Cheeseheads prolly wont know any better and let you have the pot every time you show aggression which is pretty much every street youre involved in. Its been fun. Come back and visit sometime.
