Gambling in a way is a fun and harmless way to increase
enjoyment of sports. It can be estimated that five
percent of the population will have a gambling problem
once in lifetime. It is believed to be rising due to the
increasing opportunities for gambling in sports. It is a
problem when it leads to financial and relationship
problems. It is a problem to that level that there are
attempts of suicides. Pathological gambling is more
common among men, ethnic groups and lower socioeconomic
groups. There are treatment on pathological gambling,
which includes education, individual counseling, and
group therapy.

Gambling comes as a form of entertainment for many
people. But it takes no time for an entertainment to get
transformed into addiction. It is increased as more
opportunities like casinos, sports betting, slot
machines in pubs and bars, telephone betting and
gambling over the Internet has increased. Although there
are anonymous legal groups in areas with legal gambling
opportunities, people tend to get in illegal business.
Gambling addiction can be officially defined as a loss
of control over gambling. Gambling can be problem when
it disrupts your life either physically, mentally,
socially or emotionally. Compulsive gambling is an
addiction characterized by a need to gamble often and an
inability to stop it.

already lost and the one about to lose. This is the
peculiarity of the game. Gambling addicts gamble during
work or when they are expected at home. Some time people
fall prey to it to escape from stress and pressure and
get trapped back into debt. Addicts often make use of
illegal means to finance gambling neglecting family and
other responsibilities.
