The most popular leisure activity in California is gambling. Gambling is a $14 billion business in California. You can gamble legally in California. California offers five different types of legal gambling such as state lottery, pari-mutuel horse wagering, cardclubs, Indian casinos, and charitable gaming.

Californians are really gambling crazy people as they annually spend more than $9 billion in Nevada apart from spending on their own state. They often visit neighboring states for gambling.

So, lets read out about following forms of gambling and afterward decide where you would like investing your money.  

Parimutuel Wagering:

A constitutional amendment was done in California in 1933, which confirmed legalization of Horse racing in California. According to that amendment legislature is authorized to regulate horse racing and parimutuel wagering is allowed on licensed tracks only. Parimutuel horse racing is regulated by California Horse Racing Board.

State Lottery:

The most popular form of gambling in California is lottery which got legal sanction on November 1984. Only govt. can run lottery gambling in California. Don’t forget to play lottery whenever you are in California because in California, about half of the revenues are returned to winning players as prizes. It is the most profitable gambling. It is the USA’s largest lottery.

Cardclubs:

It is the oldest form of gambling activity of California. It has existed in California since its formation as a state. But law is not clear towards cardclubs. Actually gambling law of California prohibits certain type of gambling game. But it does not mention which gambling game is legal in cardclubs.

Gambling Regulation Act specify about the approval and licensing of cardclubs which given by local jurisdiction. It should be registered with the Attorney General.

Charitable Gaming:

Charitable gambling is also equally popular in California where bingo only gets authorization. No other game can play as charitable gambling apart from bingo.

Indian Casinos:

Indian casino is another form of legalized gambling in California where you will get more than 100 Indian casinos. Indian tribes run most of the California casinos.
