National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)
National Council on
Problem Gambling is a Washington based organization
which basically provides helping hand for pathological
gamblers and their family. This institution conducts
programs and services to assists problem gamblers and
their families. NCPG is not an anti gambling
organization. It is just an organization which deals
with the problem of gambling. It ensures the available
treatment for gambler. It also encourages the research
and development programs for prevention of gambling.
NCPG takes initiative for the awareness of pathological
gambling and advocate education for them.
The NCPG was conceived as
the national representative of the problem gambling
field. There are three types of members in National
Council on Problem Gambling, state affiliate, corporate
and individual
Programs of NCPG:
National Council on
Problem Gambling conducts various programs for the
benefit of pathological gamblers. These programs are:

Helpline:
Operation of a nationwide 24/7 link on National
Problem Gambling Helpline Network to local
resources.

National Certified Gambling Counselor (NCGC):
NCPG administered credential for treatment providers
who have met the requirements of the National
Gambling Counselor Certification Board.

Hold Conferences:
NCPG also holds conferences on gambling related
problem and issue.

Distribute literature:
It distributes literature; spread knowledge on
problem gambling treatment, research, and recovery.

National Problem Gambling Awareness Week:
It also organizes National Problem Gambling
Awareness Week to increase awareness of pathological
gambling among people.

Education:
NCPG provides education on problem gambling issues
to Federal, state, tribal and international
governments and agencies

treatment.
Treatment Program:
Treatment program is
available with NCPG which provide by the trained and
experienced psychiatrics and doctors. National Council
on Problem Gambling provides following treatment for
pathological gambler.
Residential
Treatment:
NCPG organized
residential treatment program for compulsive gambling
which includes
domestic violence treatment homes, non-hospital
addiction treatment centers, intermediate care
facilities, psychiatric treatment centers, or other
non-medical settings. In this treatment gambler assist
by trained professional which expert with behavioral
health disorders or related problems.
Inpatient Treatment:
Inpatient treatment program provide a protective
environment to the client which includes medical
stabilization, support, treatment for psychiatric or
addictive disorders, and supervision. Inpatient
treatment is provided 24 hours, 7 days a week. It is a
well equipped and integrated hospital service.
