Teenager compulsive gambling:
Compulsive gambling, or pathological gambling as most of
the scholars say, it is an ability to stop gambling even
when the gambler knows that gambling is causing serious
problems in terms of financial, family and others.
Compulsive gambling is considered same as to alcohol and
drug addiction in many ways. This type of gamblers often
lose control over their behavior and commonly start
lying and cheating in order to continue their gambling
habit. They frequently try to quit gambling but
unsuccessful the every time.
How teenagers become
compulsive gamblers:
The gamblers who fall in love with the fun and
excitement of the gambling casinos or sites from the
first time of their gambling become compulsive gamblers.
Compulsive gambling is very commonly observed among the
teenagers. Teenagers with social and family problems
like once who have memories of unhappy childhood or
parental abuse, who have problem with married life and
the once who always had loneliness in their life get on
with gambling and become compulsive or problem gamblers.
They think that gambling is their personal successful
path to wealth and power and go further on to loose or
really gain success. When the gambler looses he starts
blaming like bad luck in cards, craps or lotteries or
the dealer was not a nice guy. Or they come back to
themselves and promise not to make the same mistake the
other time, this follows on after every game which they
loose.
Indicators of
compulsive gambling:
Compulsive gamblers tend to be bright, energetic,
competitive, adventuresome individuals, in short they
think they are the best gamblers than the others. Some
of the other signs of a compulsive gambler is borrowing
money to gamble or pay off the advance taken. This is
main reason for the gamblers need for money. Children of
problem gambling are at greater risk than others for
developing a gambling problem. Like for the teens it
would be very difficult to overcome gambling.
Treatment facts:
Compulsive gamblers also suffer from other addictions
such as alcoholism, drug abuse, compulsive shopping etc.
Some proves also indicate that individuals with many
addictions are more difficult to treat than those who
suffer from a single addiction. Doctors treating
compulsive gambling have noticed that in the males they
get switched on to alcoholism and in the case of women
they become addicted to compulsive shopping.
