Illegal sports gambling
Although sports gambling are illegal in almost all the
states in America, there has been a plan to legalize it
in the last few years in all the states. It is legalized
in some of the states where they are called as state
sponsored games, where the gambler winning the game has
to contribute his share to the state government. The
main point of view is that, how sports gambling has
affected the integrity of the game. Illegal gambling has
already affected sports, and legalizing it would make
matters worse.
Now
the point revolves how a sport gambling is done. It is
done through betting against a game point. A team is
taken to win the game by points, like for three points.
So the betting is collected for the game. Now if the
team won the game but did not cover the point spread,
the gamblers loose their money. This is the point when
the fans get disappointed if the team looses, but the
gamblers are concerned whether the team was able to beat
the point spread. Winning by one point is not enough if
the point spread was three.
Some
of the reasons why the illegal gambling is increasing
are because; in some of the states the law has made
sports gambling legal. People play it legally because of
its free use of state lotteries and pari-mutual betting
to run their own number games. The state actually
provides free lotteries to run their games and to gain
profit from the winners. The other reason is that many
of the gamblers would rather bet illegally than legally.
When they bet on a game, they can get their full pay and
do not have to report their winnings to the government.
This is the best thing they can’t do if they bet on
state sponsored games and this explains why illegal
gambling is increasing in states where sports gambling
are done.
It is
said to be that
illegal gambling will forever exist is that it
offers a line of credit which the legal gambling do not
provide.
