What is Dice?
Traditionally, dice is a cubic gambling device with six
faces. In each face there are some circular patches,
which indicates certain numbers. Sometimes color or
symbols are use in dice face instead of number. In
ancient time dice were made up of bone. But now dice
generally made up of plastic or wood or some other
materials.
How Dice is use in
Gambling?
Use of
dice in gambling is not new. From the time of Marco Polo
dice was use as a gambling device. The numbers or
symbols are count in dice gambling. Depending upon the
numbers which appear in the dice board, the win or loss
of the player will decide. These are basically a
mathematical calculation and its all depends upon
probability. To calculate the game parameters there are
some formula that use according to appearance of dice
face.
Varieties of Dice:
It’s not
always true that dice are only cubic; sometimes dice may
be polyhedra other than cubes in shape.The
varieties of dice generally depend upon its shape and
size or sometimes in its faces. There are some varieties
of dices. Just go through it and you can easily trace
out the differences among them.
Color dice: - Here the faces have different color.
Poker dice: - In poker
dice, instead of color and number you will get playing
card symbol in dice face.
Dice with letter: - Here letters are found in the dice
face.
Cheat dice: - Here
one face each with two through five, and two with sixes.
Random
direction dice: - Here you can find out arrow on each
side and outcome of the roll is a random direction.
Crooked dice: - Here the dice have been altered in such
a way that it
changes the distribution of the dice's outcome.
Shaved
dice: - When one side of the die is slightly shorter in
one dimension and making its slightly rectangular it is
called shaved dice. Due to its shape it always effect in
outcome of dice.
In
respect of shape there are tetrahedron, octahedron,
cylinder, Pentagonal prism and etc.
