The Basic rules

Poker is a card gambling game, which is very popular and played throughout the world. Poker is played with a standard pack or deck of 52 playing cards. The cards are ranked in the following manner- Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace. The game of poker can be defined as a game in which the players, with fully or partially concealed cards make wager into a central pot. This central pot is awarded to the player with the best combination of cards. Poker can also be played with the help of Internet and Poker machines, but in every poker gambling, the rules remain the same.
Poker is not a single card game, but a broad class of card games. The best thing about this game is that Poker offers good players a way to consistently win. The chances of winning and losing solely depend upon the combination of cards and hand ranks. The description of hand ranks is as follows.

Descriptions of Hand Ranks

Five of a kind

A five of a kind is the highest possible hand in a game of a poker. It is only possible when the gamblers are using wild cards. If there is more than one, five of a kind, in a game of poker, then the higher card wins.

Four of a kind and three of a kind

Four of a kind is the combination in which a player has four cards of the same rank. Similarly, if one player has three same cards, this is called three of a kind. If there are more than one three of a kind or four of a kind, then the higher rank card combination wins.

Straight Flush

A straight flush is a straight 5 cards in order. The order can start from any number, but in case there is more than one straight flush, the higher ranked card wins. This is the highest natural rank in the poker game. A simple flush is when the cards belong to the same suit. This is also a good combination.

Pair

Two cards of the same rank is called a pair. If in game of poker a player has two same cards and three other different cards. It is called a pair. If there are two pair of cards and one different card, it is called two pairs.

Full House

A full house is a combination in which there are three of a kind and a pair.  Ties are broken first by the three of a kind and then one pair.
