Gambling is an act of taking risk for gaining a
favorable outcome. Gambling can be of various types
starting from risking money and to end with betting your
own life. Nowadays gambling has become very popular in
the west and in fact it has become United States
national pastime. It has become a source of
entertainment for the people in the west. The gambling
for the people has become a new way of making money in
no time. Presently it is a growing concern for the
teenagers and it is really harming the society.
Gambling: an easy access
People in America can easily get into gambling because
of sophisticated technology and at the same time for
their quest for it. Gambling class mostly include
pampered rich teenagers who have excess money to waste.
People can also get indulge themselves in various online
games which they think as a matter of fun. The most
badly influenced state is the
West Virginia
which has a total number of four casinos and has more
cities to gamble in, this reflect that the gambling
industry is booming and popular among the people.
Effect of gambling
People are getting very much acquainted with this habit
and it is harming the society to a great extent.
Gambling has mostly become a disease and people who are
getting into this for fun are not able to restrict
themselves and finally loosing every thing. This is
really affecting their family .this led to self abusing
and getting addicted to drugs and other intoxication. It
may be late but the people are realizing this type of
entertainment is taking them into hell from where they
cannot return even if they want to. So the government
along with the society is trying their hand in order to
prevent their society from falling prey to such social
stigma.
Prevention of gambling
The healthcare industry has designed certain
rehabilitation and counseling program for the addicted
gamblers. Gambling counseling programs provide emotional
support information and guidance through a variety of
means including mutual support groups for the people who
are having difficulty controlling their compulsion to
gamble and for their families. This addicted to gambling
is considered as a mental disease and mental health
departments of various hospitals are providing community
education program regarding evil effect of gambling. in
this way the youth which is the major strength of a
nation can be prevented from getting indulged to such
activities .gambling can be considered as a curse as
nothing can be gained other than depression and living
an isolated life .
