What is
the relation between the gambling and the religion:
there are many definitions of the religion and the
definition of the religion is different according to
ever religion. There are many philosophical writers
which has defined the religion in their own ways.
However the religion is defined as the belief in the
supernatural phenomenon. It is used interchangeably with
the faith or belief system. The religion is just a
belief in a divinity and practice of worship, action, or
thought related to that deity. Any specific system of
rules of ethics, values, and belief can also be called
as the religion. Every religion has their own belief
about something and the other religion can be differed
in that thing. There are many religions in the world and
they have different thoughts about the gambling in their
sacred books while in some other religion there is no
description of gambling. Most of the popular religions
in the world consider the gambling as the sin especially
the Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. And there is a
religious taboo in some of the religion against
gambling.
Is
gambling a sin in Christianity:
There are
many conflicting views about the gambling and the
Christianity. The religious leaders are also divided in
their opinion. The bible in the most of it is silent
about the gambling. The gambling is considered as a sin
because the gambling is considered unethical by most of
the people that is why according to the customary
requirements of the
religion the
gambling is declared to be as a sin in Christianity. The
gambling is also considered as a sin because there is a
belief that gambling is against the basic Christian
value. There are two conflicting positions lead to an
additional conflict in how the Christianity should
respond to gambling. Should gambling be illegal or
powerfully depressed because it undermines basic
Christian values or should gambling be tolerated but not
encouraged?
Conclusion:
There is
nothing naturally wrong with gambling but the dangers
lie in overindulgence in gambling when a person is
unable to control him to then the gambling is wrong.
There is another view of looking at the gambling that
argues gambling is always wrong because it is an effort
to get something for nothing and at the cost of those
who must eventually lose. The choice is yours to decide
that you consider the gambling as a sin or not.
