Gambling is a
part of our civilized society since last few centuries.
Government and
gambling are two terms, the relation between whose is very difficult to find
out. The government in most of the places around the world is dependent on
gambling as a source of revenue. One of the state run operation known as the
lottery has been producing funds for both state and the local government
since many decades. However in many places the government is issuing
legislatures for the complete ban of gambling. The main aim of government is
to maintain order, to preserve justice and to promote the common good. It is
the responsibility of the state to control its citizen from indulging into
excessive gambling. It must not promote the gamblers to gamble more by
offering a source of easy money and greed.
American
Government on Gambling
The federal government has largely been
neglecting the area of gambling from among the life of America since the
last several years. But work is under process to develop a new regulatory
authority that will undertake the gambling operations across America.
Gambling regulations has always been considered as the headache of the state
and the local government. But history has proved that many governments
generally prohibit gambling across the world. However with certain
exceptions like the state of Nevada, gambling rules are much liberalized in
the past 25 years now. In 1970’s liberalized gambling and state lotteries
became very popular.
State government and
gambling
The
state government of any place is the main regulating authority of the
gambling scenario of that place. Hence the state government must see to it
that the gambling operations are properly carried out within the limit of
law. It must not gamble with the future of the citizens, and the future of
the coming generations with increasingly depending on the gambling revenues.
