Professional Gambling Rules

by Jerry "Jet" Whittaker

March 11, 2006

Your profits are usually measured in years, not days. If you do not use a betting bank you are bound to fail. You should use level stakes, once successful you can then improve your profitability. If you do not use the exchanges, you may as well throw money away. After a good or bad day, forget it after the last race, start working on tomorrow. You should not drink alcohol and bet. If you spend your winnings, you will never build your betting bank up. If you make 5% profit in a year, that is still more than the bank. Join Win2Win for a month, and have direct advice from the professionals. If your are having a drink, write your bets & stakes down before you start. Do not back in Amateur or Apprentice races unless you are sure of both the horse and the jockey. One should try not to be swayed by reports or tips on horses in newspapers, unless they are proven successful. Always re-check ground conditions on the day.

Golden secrets

Many people, who want to make money from betting on horse racing, may already be capable of it with out knowing, others may just need a little fine tuning to make it possible. If you place level stakes on your horses from the day you get paid, to the day your money runs out, you are probably increasing the bookies holiday fund. The same happens if you bet randomly with random stakes, and if your part of the 'must have one last bet to get my money back' brigade. Having a betting bank & a staking system does a number of things. It ensures you make the most of higher priced winners, but do not have a fortune on them, as they win less often, hence the higher odds.

Top Tips

When race watching, you should always check the 3rd horse in a handicap. This is used as the benchmark for the race by Official Handicapper, and seldom goes up or down in the weights. So note that any that finished close to the winner, but 2L or ahead of the rest of the field. When opening an account to take advantage of a bookmaker’s free offer, you can open as many accounts as you wish, as long as you use a different credit card for each of them. Also, if you ever have an account closed, have a friend open up one with the same company. None of these actions are actually bookmaker friendly, but, like them, we must always look for an edge in our favour. One should always try to follow the rules that the professionals follow.
