Gambling:
Basically gambling is any common gaming operated for the
purpose of gaming that includes accepting, recording or
registering bets. In other words gambling is playing
any game of chance for money or other thing of value.
Initially many participate in gambling as a form of
recreation but soon after few days gambling becomes a
means to gain an income. In the future one can become
psychologically addictive. Addiction of gambling creates
a harmful behavior in some people.
Gambling is powerful experience in which people can
loose themselves and become the object of addiction.
They cannot control their habit and just suffer pain and
loss in their rest of the life. As a result of gambling
they suffer from nervousness, uneasiness, depression,
anxiety, stress on relationships, upset, and other
mental illness.
Addiction gambling:
Gambling is addictive but not a medical disease.
Gambling has mainly four phases, they are winning phase,
losing phase, desperation phase, and the hopeless phase.
There is no age and sex bar for gambling. In gambling
people become completely absorbed in an activity and
then follow it in a habitual manner. This leads to
extremely negative life outcomes. The addicted
individuals often give a picture of loss of control in
which they believe they are not sufficient experts of
avoiding or stopping gambling. This becomes a disease
for the addicted individuals. There is some
neurochemical adaptation that accounts for compulsive
behaviors. The adjustments between the neurochemicals
lead to measurable tolerance and withdrawal. The
addiction of gambling is nothing but progressive
worsening of the habit. In order to control, this
requires a treatment.
Addiction gambling treatment:
Addiction gambling
treatment is the beginning of freedom. The gambling
treatment helps to improve the everyday lives of those
who have been adversely affected by gambling addiction
and make their lives manageable again. The treatment
provides an opportunity to return to a healthy and
productive way of life again. There are wide varieties
of treatment approaches. By reducing the time in
gambling and spending the time in other activities
gambling can be reduced. The
treatment includes both individual and group therapies.
There should be a proper counseling for the addicted
individual. The treatment includes accepting the truths
and being honest to the family members. The treatment
can be extended depending on the state of the
individual. Through treatment an individual change his
or her way of thinking about the gambling. They should
avoid returning to the gambling again.
