Canada has an exclusive
policy construction with respect to gambling. It differs
from many global counterparts as gambling operates
solely under the control of the regional and territorial
governments. These governments work within the confines
of the Criminal Code to recommend gambling option that
the market and the supporting environment demand.
Charities, First Nations and private operators also
benefit from gambling in Canada by providing
provincially authorized gambling actions through
operational arrangements.
Teenage gambling in
Canada:
A new study shows that
35 per cent of Canadian teenagers like 17-year-olds are
gambling for money and that percentage is expected to
double by the time they are 20. The in charge of
Gambling Council study found that about 40 per cent of
adolescence who are gambling play poker and about 25 per
cent bet on sports. The council's have researched that
about 10 percent gamble are done online. In most cases,
they use their parent’s credit cards, since their own
cards would show they are under-age. Only about seven
per cent admitted to having a gambling problem. The
gambling council of Canada collected data in the survey
will be used to develop prevention programs better
suited to young people. Thirteen per cent of young
people who play poker declare that they sometimes spend
more money than they can manage to pay for on gambling,
and that's a particular alarm.
Easy access for
teenager:
Teens are getting
information about gambling from the Internet, parents,
friends and TV and are highly updated about the outside
world of gambling. This includes invalid messages like
Gambling is a good way to make money or one can win the
money back. There are many researcher centers for
addiction and mental problem people for
gambling in Canada.
Challenging gambling is very much about dreaming and
dreaming of the big win. Teenagers are very much
horizontal to dreaming more. Their goals very often are
out of reality. Few study are made to ask them that why
they were gambling. Most reported they gambled for
entertainment, but a large number said they gambled
because they needed money.
