Poker Game:

The game of poker is supposedly being considered to have born in the first or second decade of 19th century. It was witnessed first in the French territory on the New Orleans. This game was then brought into the United States by the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It was usually being played in the gambling centers and nowhere else till 1811 brought it into playing legally. the earliest known form of Poker was played with a 20-card pack. It was at that time played between only 4 people.

The poker game play:

Poker is a game played with standard playing cards. It is a five-card vying game. A vying game is the one in which a players instead of playing out their cards, place out their bets first and then compare in accordance with the ranking of the card combination. The stakes are increased progressively and then a showdown is made in which the person with possessing the best hand wins. The pot is won even though anyone of the player has dropped out of the play continuing till the last person when the last person wins without even a showdown.

Types of poker:

There are many versions and variations of poker. All the suites in the card deck are used. Poker games involve rounds of betting into a common fund called as a "pot". Some types of pokers include rounds of replacing/receiving cards. The number of betting rounds and card draws, all depends on the particular version of the game one is playing. The play continues in a clockwise direction. The player on the left hand of the dealer starts to play first.

Texas Holdem is played everywhere these days. There are also different rules for other specific versions of poker.  Mostly, players either make blind bets or disclosed bets into the community pot. Then the players are dealt with cards, and a round of betting takes place. At the end of a round of betting, everyone contributes equally to the pot. The betting round ends when everyone has contributed to the pot. Depending on the type of poker being played, next card action takes place. In some types of pokers additional cards are dealt to each player while in some types cards are placed in the middle of the table called as the board-cards and players are given an option to redraw or discard new cards. The number of card actions and betting rounds alternate a number of times depending upon version of game.
