Addiction teen gambling
Gambling is very attractive; mainly to people whom need
money like teenagers. The experts did a study to see who
gambles and found people who made less than ten thousand
dollars a year and students who want to spend money for
leisure gamble six times more often than those who earn
over fifty thousand dollars a year. These people know
they can win millions by risking a dollar. Gambling is
so attractive, that when the power ball is high, ninety
percent of eligible adults buy a ticket. There is no
other commodity where the percentages are this high and
there is no product just a chance of winning.
Teen gambling trouble
Teen gambling
is on its pick across the country, due to a couple of
factors. One is the showy, celebrity-filled, high-stakes
poker game that fills the cable TV channels. The other
is the existing cultural attitude that gambling is fun,
glamorous and possibly the source of huge wealth.
Casinos are flourishing up all over the landscape.
Dependent on the huge revenue that lotteries and other
gaming activities provide, the state governments widely
promote participation. According to Special Revenue
division, approximately $700 million annually from
casinos, lotteries and other gaming activities is
deposited into the fund. People who live within 50 miles
of a casino are at double the risk for problem or
pathological gambling. Unfortunately, many parents view
games as friendly, social events in regular day-to-day
activity. They know where their kids are and assume
their child will not develop a problem. It can take
years before one realizes that gambling is a problem is
there in the child.
Treatment for teen gambling
There is a therapy
effort but there is a unity in addictive behavior where
gloominess can be accompanied by alcoholism, drug
addiction, depression and other compulsive activity.
Psychiatric therapy to explore the source of the
psychological preconditions that might originate from
family and family relations needed to be explored to
determine if that is the source of the void that is
being filled by the negative behavior.
By helping with
these types of treatments the teenagers can stop
gambling, regain their self-esteem and once again, earn
the trust and love of family and friends. These types of
treatment are available by trained and certified
counselors who understand this addiction properly.
Compulsive gamblers or teenagers can actually return to
a normal life by giving them proper treatment.
