As reported by the Rocky Mountain News: "A casino bus hit a utility truck
head-on Thursday afternoon on Colorado 119 near Black Hawk, triggering a
second accident and injuring at least 10 people, two seriously. "Authorities
said the drivers of the bus and truck were airlifted to St. Anthony Central
Hospital in Denver with the most serious injuries. "The rest of the injured
were transported by ambulance to various Denver-area hospitals.
"...Of the 10 people who were hospitalized, four were taken to St. Anthony's
and three of them had been released by late Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman
said.
"'The canyon is a heavily traveled road that is narrow with curves and just
not an ideal driving situation,' said Stacey Stegman, spokeswoman for the
Colorado Department of Transportation.
"...State officials have tried to make the highway safer with a number of
improvements..."
