As reported by Leeds Today: "Leeds will strike it lucky with up to 4,000 new
jobs if it wins the race for Britain's first supercasino. "A city council
report says deprived areas such as Harehills, Holbeck and Gipton would be
the biggest beneficiaries of the boom a casino would bring. "The complex's
operator could even be asked to hand over a slice of its profits to a social
inclusion fund dedicated to improving the quality of life in the city's
struggling neighbourhoods. "Top gaming names from around the world have
already expressed a 'strong degree' of interest in running the Las
Vegas-style establishment should Leeds be chosen ahead of Sheffield,
Manchester and Newcastle, according to the report..."
