As reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Harrah's Station Square
Casino has the potential to 'blow up' traffic congestion on the South Side,
an independent traffic engineer told the city's Gaming Task Force today.
"Chuck Wooster, president of David E. Wooster and Associates, raised
questions about both Harrah's and Majestic Star Casino, which would locate
on the North Shore. But he issued his harshest assessments about the Station
Square site.
"Harrah's 'woefully underestimated' the number of cars that would come to a
casino, provided "inadequate" traffic information and has few options to
ease the projected congestion by expanding Carson Street or the Smithfield
Street Bridge, Wooster said.
".From a purely traffic standpoint, Wooster said he favors the plan by Isle
of Capri Casino, which would pay $290 million for a new arena if it wins the
license."
