As reported by the Montreal Gazette: "Loto-Quebec's proposal to relocate the Montreal Casino to the Southwest borough could help revitalize the area but questions remain about public security and the impact on the neighbourhood, the city of Montreal says.
"The city's executive committee presented its concerns and a series of questions about the project in a 20-page document submitted yesterday to Loto-Quebec.
"'An investment of this size - about $1.2 billion - would help in the revitalization and the development of the Southwest borough, a part of Montreal where the needs are enormous,' executive committee member Alan DeSousa said in an interview.
" 'You have to take into account all the benefits and all the impacts in the community before you can come to a final decision,' said DeSousa, the executive committee member responsible for economic development "
