Betting Systems

By Samantha Williams

Betting on the gaming tables requires skills and techniques if you want to make your bankroll last as long as it can. There is nothing more distressing than leaving the casino with barely enough money in your pocket to pay for your way home after only a few hours.

Familiarizing yourself with the different betting systems and learning how these systems work could help you a lot towards winning on the games. Do not rely your fate on pure luck, some games are won by skill.
Here are three of the most popular betting systems gamblers often use.

Insurance betting system

Insurance betting happens when you lower or decrease the amount of your bet after you win, especially if your last bet was a high bet. This method of betting is a good compromise, and this is called “playing it safe”.

Positive progression

When you increase your bet when you win in any game, you are using the positive progression betting system. You just take on a “ride on” attitude and this is commonly used by gamblers worldwide. This betting system does not require you to pour in more capital because you just use your winnings to bet on the next game. Gamblers usually resort to this to take advantage of the winning streak and they consider this as gambler’s luck.

Negative progression

When you lose a game and you increase your bet in the next games, this is negative progression betting system. This is a least pleasant method of betting and must be avoided if you can help it because if you just lost and you increase your bet, you naturally need more capital. It would be like forcing to invite a winning streak after you lost. The drawback to this is when you have placed a higher bet and you still lose, believe me you will not feel ecstatic about it. Losing could be painful and nerve-wracking. If you are unable to discipline yourself, you will be compelled to increase your capital some more until you will find yourself betting money that is not in your budget. The gaming tables had been mute witnesses of desperate gamblers and had triggered the wreckage of so many homes and families because of lack of discipline in gambling.

Other betting systems you should be familiar with are the 1-3-2-6 System which is based on the presumption that you can win four times in a row, and the D’Alembert system where you increase your bet by one unit after each losing bet and decrease your bet after each winning bet.

You could also opt for the Labouchere System which also means the “cancellation” system, the Martingale System which is a very old and simple system of betting, the Ormond System where a gambler assumes he can win before reaching his limit and make excesses on his budget. The last betting system on our list is the Paroli system where you start with one bet and increase your succeeding bets when you win. Gambling could be fun, as long as you know your limitations.
